Last week we left our house on Thursday for the journey up to Wisconsin.  Met Dad in North Branch and he took the boys for the weekend.  We arrived around 2:30 ish to our little motel clear out in the boonies in a town called Webb Lake.  Checked in and kind of took a little nap then went to Danbury to surprise a guy that Keith works with.  We ate and drank some beers and then headed back to our motel.  Later that evening another couple of guys came up too!  Starting Friday they all took off.  It was John, Susie, Keith, Kevin and Dick.    While they were 4 wheeling I went to this place about 1/2 hour away in Spooner/Shell Lake called The Potter’s Shed.  You could buy already made items or you could paint your own.  Of course I did the paint your own and had fun doing it.  I was the only adult doing it… the others were like 12 little girls with the girl scouts… hmmm anyway.   Then I went and looked at some antique stores and then found a scrapbook store.  I finally made my way back to the motel and started scrapbooking for a while until Keith called and said where they were and I met them for supper and then they made their way back to the motel.  They were filty and just an FYI the ticks were really bad.  Susie had a one day count of 21 on her…. YUCK!!  After some drama with a couple of guys they left the next morning so it was just me, Keith, John and Susie.  They finally convinced me to rent one for the day and that we would have fun.  At first I was sick to my stomach of being nervous but after I got the feel for it I felt like I was cruising the streets of Rodman again and going like the rest of them.  I think I recall a few times wanting to go faster.  We had lots of fun and even seen a porcupine.  It was kind of chilly but when it started to rain it got really cold.  That evening we went to the local town bar/restaurant and had Ribs and then people watched, drank beer and laughed alot.  It was fun and we have decided that we would definantely go back.  Motel was kind of like the old West Bend motel.  Nothing special… but it was clean and the lady was SUPER nice.  Hey it was only $45.99 a night.  They only had one channel on the tv to watch but hey…. we didn’t go to watch tv.  If anyone wants a fun, friendly people, good food and just to be outdoors… this is the place to go that doesn’t cost a fortune and oh ya really no technology… no cell phone service……….  But that was another nice thing too!!
